Rolleston District

The lay of the land

For the six years leading up to 2020, Selwyn was the nation’s fastest growing district in New Zealand. The Rolleston urban area had a population of 17,532 according to the 2018 New Zealand census. Since then it has only grown more.

With this growth there has been considerable investment in quality amenities and facilities, ensuring residents enjoy absolute convenience and ease of living. New medical centres, daycare centres, cafes, shops and schools have all been built recently. In 2012 there was one primary school. Now there are seven schools, including a high school that opened in 2016.
